Shimokura Musical Instrument Co. provides duty-free services to travelers. There will be 5% tax exemption from the purchase price. This applies to one item over 10,000 yen only. However, if you are purchasing items such as tuners and mouthpieces that are less than 10,000 yen, you will still qualify for tax exemption so long as the total purchase exceeds 10,000 yen. Expendable supplies such as reeds, strings, grease and oil do not apply.
